Book Recommendation of the Month - Love is the Killer App

Love is the Killer App - How to Win Business and Influence Friends by Tim Sanders

Don't let the "mushy" title deter you; this is a serious book for project managers and other leaders who are looking for approaches to expanding one's network. We often say that project management is a "relationship business," but how does one look for ways to keep up numerous relationships without sounding "lame" and wasting other people's time? This book provides a very valid approach to keeping up with others in your network, with the added benefit of expanding one's own knowledge in the process.

A pragmatic, easily implementable process, along with being a quick read, Love is the Killer App is very helpful and supports Mindavation's objective of being serious about business, while caring for yourself and your colleagues in the process.

This Month's Article - Being Motivated In Today's Business World

    By Denise DeCarlo, PMP

My how things have changed! When attending a typical PMI meeting a few years ago there would be several job openings announced with only a few candidates vying for those project management positions. As we all know, the market has drastically changed and we're faced with a different set of problems to manage.

    Mindavation Current Events

The Mindavation team is pleased to announce a partnership with PM College, a Havertown, PA based project management training firm. With this agreement Mindavation and PM College will be sharing class material to expand offerings to our respective customers.

As a result of this Mindavation is pleased to announce a new class - PM Adventure - a real-life project simulation class. During the PM Adventure course, students combine classroom learning with the hands-on learning from Outward Bound exercises such as orienteering, sailing, or climbing. The focus of both types of learning are on the skills needed in project management along with the implementation of these skills in a real life experience.

Locations of the sessions are highly flexible and can be provided on-site or at one of several Outward Bound sites.

PM Adventure provides real learning with serious fun, and allows students to experience a great combination of project management skills and valuable team building experience.
