Product Innovation – From Strategy Through Tactical To Operational

Course Duration: 2 – 2.5 days

Course Description: Product Innovation is an executive concentration on the proven methodologies and best practices (although they are seldom correctly applied) to lead and participate in innovation efforts for your organization to gain or maintain a competitive advantage. This covers the complete innovation life cycle, from goods and service ideation to launch.  Innovation leaders understand and utilize every phase of the innovation process to produce goods and services that are successful in the global market place and provide maximum return on investment to the organization.

Key Learning Objectives

The innovation body of knowledge will be explored in two categories:

(1) those processes and activities associated with the Managed Front End that transforms needs and ideas into business cases for potentially viable product concepts and

(2) the New Product Development process that uses a framework of execution stages and decision gates to transform concepts into products launched to their target market.

CERTIFICATION OPTION: For those interested in professional certification additional review materials are available to prepare for the Association of International Product Marketing and Management’s (AIPMM) Certified Innovation Leader exam.  Passing the exam results in the Certified Innovation Leader credential.    AIPMM, founded in 1998, is the largest international product management professional group, providing networking, training, and certification.  An additional fee is required for the review materials, practice questions, required first-year AIPMM membership, exam registration and taking the exam.  A virtual study program facilitated by certified innovation leaders is available for participants to transfer the knowledge shared this week to others in their organizations in the future.  This consists of an online collaboration environment that reviews similar concepts, provides preparation for taking the CIL exam and taking the certification exam.  It is an effective means to build a foundation and common language for innovation in an organization or group.
